The Lost Dogs' Home's historical site in North Melbourne first opened its doors in 1913 and has been providing compassion and care to lost, stray and abandoned animals ever since. A hundred years on, the Home now has shelters in regional Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales, and cares for over 34,000 dogs and cats each year.
The Home provides a wide variety of services and programs that help reunite lost animals with their owners and find new homes for those left unwanted. These services include our adoption program, behaviour rehabilitation for untrained and timid dogs, foster care, post adoption training session for new owners, extensive veterinary care and our National Pet Register microchip and tag service.
Staff strive to give all lost and abandoned dogs a warm and comfortable place to rest during their stay, and find the Kuranda Dog Beds are a welcomed retreat for our dogs. The Home would love to upgrade more pens across our shelters to include a comfy Kuranda Dog Bed. Your donation towards the purchase of a Kuranda Dog Bed will be much appreciated by the thousands of dogs we care for every year
